- 1918 - Letter to the editor:
Everyman, April, in
which he wrote (from Havana, Cuba):
"I
know of no greater service to the battle for liberty than your
efforts to unlock nature's storehouse and unshackle labor's
effort at production. If the honest and liberty loving people of
our land only realized that the slave head-value of the entire
population as chattel slaves has been absorbed by the land
possessed by a limited few, The Great Adventure would soon be an
accomplished fact. Self determination in an economic sense would
then be each man's portion, as if it were a birthright, and the
abundant life begotten of an enormous production of primal
necessities would be our inheritance."

- 1942 - Article,
"Henry George Tax Theory is Revived,"
Boston Traveler, 23 January. Reprinted in Land and Freedom,
January-February:
"Writing from Washington, Mr. Haskin opened
his article thus: 'While peoples everywhere face huge tax burdens thename of
Henry George, nineteenth-century apostle of the single tax, is revived, and
not without interest. The name of the noted single-tax advocate is revived
because of the multiplicity of taxes that now perplex the people. George foresaw
much of what the machine age has produced, and great portions of his writings, when
read today, make him appear more like a prophet than the fanatic many people of
his time believed him to be'. After an account of George's doctrines, the article
closes thus: 'Henry George's predictions are interesting not only as
they apply to their fulfilment in relation to the machine age, but in relation
to taxation which, in itself, has become a problem, increasing so rapidly that
experts of the United States Treasury are asked tax questions which they cannot
answer'."
